Learning environment
The whole school site needs to be designed to support and facilitate learning.
Organisation of the classroom/learning environment is designed to support the children’s learning needs;
- Displays in classrooms and around the school are designed to encourage (displays of great work) and support learning (Learning Walls).
- Classroom layout and resources are provided to maximise the facilitation of learning.
- The use of learning resources and ICT is to allow children to work independently, advance curiosity through research and develop confidence through learning apps
- Effective use of other spaces is made: Use of playground, Dome Area, Music and Knowland Building.
- Classrooms are well organised, clean and tidy.
Learning Resources
All resources in school are designed to aid and support the children’s learning. Elmwood Juniors aims to have the very best resources possible to ensure children are facilitated to learn and gain the most from every lesson
This includes:
- Every child at Elmwood has access to a Chromebook and Ipad
- Knowledge Organisers support learning around themes
- High quality Books/Library to encourage a love of reading independently
- Art & DT equipment is always available
- Well kept resources in PE so that children can access the full curriculum without being limited by poor equipment.
